. 🌶🥩 Spicy Steak Chili Sambal Noodles
🥩 Steak
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank or sirloin steak (thinly sliced)
- Salt & black pepper
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch (for tenderness)
- 1 tsp oil
Prep
1️⃣ Toss steak with soy sauce + cornstarch + oil.
2️⃣ Let marinate 10–15 minutes.
3️⃣ Sear in very hot pan 1–2 minutes per side.
4️⃣ Remove and set aside (don’t overcook).
🍜 Noodles
- 10–12 oz egg noodles / ramen / rice noodles
Cook until just tender. Drain and set aside.
🌶 Chili Sambal Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp sambal oelek (adjust to heat level)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
- 2 tbsp pasta water (for silkiness)
Mix together and set aside.
🥬 Bok Choy
- 2–3 baby bok choy, halved
- 1 tsp oil
- Pinch salt
Quick sear cut-side down 2–3 minutes until slightly charred but still crisp.
🍳 Fried Egg
Cook sunny-side up or over-easy.
You want that yolk runny for sauce magic 😮🔥
🔥 Build the Noodles
1️⃣ In same pan used for steak, add:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
Cook until fragrant (30 seconds).
2️⃣ Add cooked noodles.
3️⃣ Pour chili sambal sauce over. Toss well.
4️⃣ Add steak back in. Toss quickly.
🥢 Plate
- Twirl noodles into bowl
- Top with sliced steak
- Add charred bok choy
- Crown with fried egg
- Garnish with:
- Green onions
- Sesame seeds
- Extra chili oil
