My greedy family swore that my devoted wife had run away with another man while I lay unconscious in the hospital. Seven months later, a single bite of a pastry from a street vendor led me straight to her—standing beside a humble food cart, nine months pregnant and completely alone.

“Sebastian, thank God you answered,” Carlos gasped, panic filling his voice. “I’m at the hospital trying to reach Natalie, but you need to come here right now. We have a serious problem. I just intercepted a message between Renata and a corrupt family attorney.”

“What are you talking about, Carlos?” I snapped, desperately waving down a taxi.

“The plane crash was not an accident, Sebastian,” Carlos said.

His words cut through me like a knife.

“The mechanic they secretly hired has confessed to tampering with your plane’s fuel lines. Ursula and Renata planned everything. They wanted complete control of your construction empire. But when you survived the crash and fell into a coma, they panicked.”

Carlos paused, struggling to catch his breath.

“Now they have discovered that Natalie is pregnant with your legal heirs. If those babies are born while she retains custody, your family will lose control of everything.”

My blood began to boil.

“Where are they now?”

“They’re at the hospital, Sebastian,” Carlos whispered in horror. “They bribed a security guard and brought forged custody documents claiming Natalie is mentally unstable. They plan to take the newborns as soon as they are delivered and force Natalie to surrender her parental rights while she is under medication.”

His voice dropped lower.

“Sebastian, if she resists, I don’t think they intend to let her leave that room alive.”

A taxi screeched to a stop beside me.

I threw myself into the back seat and slammed the door.

“Swedish Medical Center!” I shouted at the driver. “Drive as fast as you can! Break every traffic law if you have to!”

As the taxi raced through traffic, my hands trembled with a terrifying mixture of fury and fear.

This was no longer about stolen money or a corporate empire.

My wife and my three tiny, defenseless miracles were caught in a deadly trap, and my own mother was holding the poison.

I had to reach them before it was too late.

Part 3: Reckoning and Redemption

The taxi practically skidded into the ambulance entrance of Swedish Medical Center.

I did not wait for it to come to a complete stop.

I threw a hundred-dollar bill onto the dashboard, shoved the door open, and charged through the sliding glass entrance like a madman.

“Sir! You cannot run in here!” a nurse shouted.

I ignored her.

I found Carlos waiting near the elevators, pacing frantically.

“They’re on the fourth floor, room 412,” Carlos said quickly as the elevator doors closed around us. “I called the police, but they are still ten minutes away. Your mother brought two of her personal bodyguards. They’re blocking the door.”

“Let them try to stop me,” I growled, my heart hammering against my ribs.

When the elevator doors opened with a chime on the fourth floor, the sterile smell of the maternity ward nearly suffocated me.

At the end of the hallway, two large men in black suits stood guard outside room 412.

Through the glass panel in the door, I saw Ursula standing beside the hospital bed, holding a thick bundle of legal documents.

Renata stood beside her with a pen in her hand, pointing aggressively at a pale, tearful Natalie, who was connected to intravenous lines and medical monitors.

Natalie was crying hysterically.

“Hey! You’re not allowed to be here!” one of the guards shouted, stepping forward to block me.

I did not argue.

Fueled by seven months of suppressed rage, I drove my fist into him and sent him crashing against the wall.

The second guard lunged at me, but Carlos tackled him to the floor and held him down.

I threw my full weight against the heavy wooden door and burst into the room.

Ursula and Renata turned around, their faces twisted with irritation.

“Who dares to—” Ursula began.
