THE CAT WHO REFUSED TO LET GO
At the shelter, they placed two frightened cats inside the same cage.
One was orange, thin, tired, and nearly blind.
The other was smaller, gray, and shaking from fear.
The workers thought they would hide in opposite corners.
But they didn’t.
The orange cat slowly moved closer, lowered his head, and wrapped himself around the gray one like a shield.
From that moment on, he refused to move away.
When food came, he waited until the smaller cat ate first.
When people walked by, he stood in front.
When the gray cat trembled, he pressed his face gently against hers.
No one knew where they came from.
No one knew what they had survived.
But everyone at the shelter could see one thing clearly:
These two had already lost too much.
And the orange cat was silently making a promise…
“I won’t let you be alone again.”
But when adoption day came, the shelter faced a heartbreaking decision…
