Soft and airy cinnamon walnut rolls with cream cheese frosting: a delicious classic you’ll gladly get out of bed for.
For the cinnamon-walnut filling
- ½ cup unsalted butter, soft
- 1 cup brown sugar, pressed down firmly
- 1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ¾ cup chopped walnuts (roasted for the best flavor)
For the cream cheese frosting
- 115 grams of cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, soft
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons of milk (as needed for a smooth consistency)
This is how you make soft and fluffy cinnamon walnut rolls.

- Gradually add the flour and stir until a soft, rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 7-10 minutes by hand or with a mixer until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in volume.
2. Make the filling
- Mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Toast the walnuts in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes and then chop them finely.
