The Pastor Who Ignored Every Warning
« Amos… »
Her voice trembled.
« I saw that village in a dream. »
He knelt beside her.
« I’ve prayed about this. »
She shook her head.
« No. »
« I felt God’s peace. »
Again she shook her head.
« Not every battle belongs to you. »
Her eyes filled with tears.
« I saw blood. »
She swallowed hard.
« I saw fire. »
Her hands began to tremble.
« And I saw you lying still. »
Pastor Amos gently held her hands.
« Mama… »
« As long as I carry God’s Word… »
He lifted his Bible.
« …nothing can harm me. »
She looked at him with the sadness only a mother can carry.
« My son… »
« Even the strongest shield can break. »
But Pastor Amos simply smiled.
He kissed her forehead, hugged her tightly, and went inside to finish packing.
Outside, the wind suddenly rose.
Somewhere in the distance…
A lone crow cried into the gathering darkness.
