I Took My Daughter to Fix Our Noisy Car, and She Turned the Entire Mechanic Workshop Into a Hospital Before We Drove Home

“Mummy,” Vivian whispered as she stretched her neck toward the open bonnet, “is this where the car keeps its brain?”

I looked at her, trying not to laugh.

Last weekend, Vivian’s daddy said our car had been making one strange noise for days, so he decided it was finally time to take it to a mechanic workshop.

Since it was the weekend, Vivian insisted on following us.

I even told her to stay at home because mechanic workshops are usually dirty, but she folded her arms and said, “Mummy, how will I know how cars are treated when they’re sick?”

I looked at her daddy.

He looked at me.

Both of us just laughed and carried her along.

The moment we got there, Vivian became unusually quiet.

She stood beside the car and watched the mechanics working on different vehicles as if she was attending a practical class.

One mechanic opened the bonnet of our car and immediately started checking the engine.

That was when Vivian leaned closer and asked me her serious question.

“Mummy… is this where the car keeps its brain?”

I almost burst into laughter.

Before I could answer, the mechanic removed one dirty engine part and placed it on the floor.

Vivian stared at it for a few seconds.

Then she looked at the mechanic and asked, “Uncle… did you remove the car’s kidney?”

The mechanic laughed so hard that everyone nearby turned to look.

“No, my little madam,” he replied. “This is part of the engine.”

Vivian nodded thoughtfully.

“So the car survived the operation?”

Everyone around us laughed.

A few minutes later, another mechanic crawled underneath the car until only his legs were visible.

Vivian immediately bent down and called, “Uncle!”

There was no reply.

She tried again.

“Uncle!”

“Yes?” the mechanic answered from under the car.

“Are you sure you’ll find your way back out?”

Even the customers waiting for their cars started laughing.

Her daddy shook his head.

“This girl will not let anybody work today.”

Not long afterward, the mechanic picked up a spanner and began tightening several bolts.

Vivian watched every movement with complete concentration.

Then she turned to her daddy.

“Daddy…”

“Yes?”

“When doctors are treating people, they use injection.”

He nodded.

“When mechanics are treating cars, they use spanner.”

He smiled.

“So does that mean spanner is the injection for cars?”

Her daddy laughed.

“I’ve never thought of it like that.”

Vivian smiled proudly.
