I Took My Daughter to Fix Our Noisy Car, and She Turned the Entire Mechanic Workshop Into a Hospital Before We Drove Home
“I think I’m understanding engineering.”
A little while later, the mechanic started the car.
This time the engine sounded much better.
He smiled and said, “Oga, your car is fine now.”
Before her daddy could respond, Vivian walked up to the bonnet, placed her small hand gently on it, and said softly, “Congratulations.”
The mechanic looked at her in surprise.
“Who are you talking to?”
“The car,” she answered.
“It has recovered.”
Everyone burst into laughter again.
As we got ready to leave, her daddy paid the mechanic.
Vivian tugged gently at his shirt.
“Daddy…”
“Yes?”
“You forgot something.”
“What?”
“You should buy the car malt.”
He frowned.
“Malt?”
She nodded very seriously.
“Yes. When I recover from sickness, you people buy me ice cream. This car has just recovered. It deserves something too.”
At that point, even the mechanics couldn’t control their laughter.
Her daddy smiled.
“So what exactly should I buy for the car?”
Vivian thought carefully for a few seconds.
“Anything it likes,” she finally replied.
“But please don’t buy biscuits…”
She paused just long enough for everyone to wait for the reason.
“It doesn’t have teeth.”
The entire workshop exploded with laughter.
As we climbed into the car to leave, Vivian gently tapped the dashboard.
“Please don’t fall sick again,” she said.
“We’ve spent enough money on your hospital bill today.”
Honestly, we had only gone there to repair one noisy car.
But before we left, Vivian had transformed the mechanic workshop into a hospital, promoted every mechanic to a doctor, and somehow managed to make everyone feel sorry for a car that, in her mind, had just survived a successful operation.
